Khadijah kabra

Alhamdullilah wassalatu wasalama ala rasullallah...So tonight we talk about Khadijah (r) and Khadijah

is the first and the first and the first, the list of firsts, Khadijah would occupy

the first nine which I'll get to inshallah ta'ala if you actually get to her virtues.

We could've started off the series with her but I wanted to lay the groundwork with some
of those that started to have the inclination before Khadijah, before the Prophet (s) receives
the message and believes him and give him that support the he needed so desperately.

Understanding Zaid Ibn Amr and Waraka, the role that they played and now we get to this
very special woman.

My disclaimer is that I've done a five hour class on Khadijah so it's very hard to condense
into a 40 minute class but I'm going to try, particularly in how she distinguishes herself
as the first, while omitting many of the biographical details about her and focus on what people

might not know about her.

The Prophet (s) said that the best woman of her

times was Maryam and the best woman of her times was Khadijah.


The Prophet (s) included her in the people who perfected their faith.


It's very difficult for a person who is not a prophet to be perfect in their faith, in

their faith and character.

She is Khadijah bint Khawaylid-------.

She has the same lineage as the Prophet (s) from Kusair Ibn Uzzah.

Her father was the youngest of his siblings, and she was the youngest of her family.
Her father Khawaylid was the chief of Banu Assad.
He was one of those who defended the Kaba in the story in Surah Fil along with Abdul
Mutalib (the grandfather of the Prophet (s) who also took care of the Prophet (s) because

his father passed away) and he also went with Abdul Mutalib to congratulate the ruler of
Yamen after the death of Abraha (who sought to destroy the Kaba).

The two men spent time together and both died early.

Khawaylid died in the battle of AlFijaar.

Khadijah's mother was Fatima bint Zaaida.

Khadijah's sibling include Awwam (the father of Zubair (r) who is one of the ten promised

paradise) and Hizaam (the father of Hakeem Ibn Hizaam who plays a big role in the seerah

of the Prophet (s)), Haala bint Khawaylid (who son Al Aas married Zaynab, the daughter

of Khadijah (r)).

She was born in 555, 15 years older than the Prophet (s).

Her name was very unique at that time.

It means premature (she was born before her due date, and some scholars say it also indicates

that she was before her time).

You don't find any Khadijahs before her.

She was extremely beautiful, well educated, well dressed, sharp, perfect in her behavior,

perfect in her character, the most elegant woman of Makkah.

She never worshipped idols, probably because of the influence of Waraka

Her nickname is Tahira (pure) which was in reference to her character even before Islam.

She was known to never have backbited, lied, hurt anyone, or upset anyone.

Had a very gentle, subtle presence.
