 Hadith No. 19

> Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that one of the Prophets (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fought and he said to his people:  If he wants to spend the night with his wife, then the man should not go with me, nor should the man who has built the house and has not yet put up his roof, nor should he go with .  The narrator says that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did jihad when he came near a village near the Asr prayer or at a time when he was waiting for the birth of a camel.  He said: Thou art the messenger and I am the messenger. O Allah, stop this sun on me for a while, then the sun was restrained on them till Allah gave them victory and then they amassed the spoils of war.  When the fire came to eat the booty, the fire refused to eat it, that is, it did not eat it. They said, "One of you has betrayed him, so a man from every tribe has betrayed me."  He swore allegiance. Then the men of all the tribes swore allegiance. One man's hand clung to the Prophet's hand. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to this man: The man who betrayed this property is in your tribe.  He swore allegiance. They swore allegiance. Then the hands of two or three men clung to their hands. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: You have betrayed. Then they brought out gold equal to the head of a cow.  Put the booty in a high place, then the fire accepted it and ate it. He said: The booty was not lawful for anyone before us. Allah Almighty saw our weakness and humility and made the booty lawful for us.
