Hearing the name of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in iqaamah, kissing with thumbs over eyes
Hearing the name of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in iqaamah, kissing with thumbs over eyes ***********************
There was a question about kissing the thumb and putting it in the eyes after hearing the holy name in the iqamah. This process should be explained with an argument.
It is permissible, mustahab and a cause of mercy and blessings to hear the name of Sayyid Alam Noor Majsam (peace be upon him) in the Holy Adhan and kiss his thumb or index finger.
There are arguments for the justification of this act of beauty, and even if there is no argument, it is sufficient for the justification not to have an argument against the prohibition according to sharee'ah.
Imam Ahl-e-Sunnat Mujaddid-e-Azam Quds Surah Al-Aziz wrote two treatises on the justification of kissing the name Aqdas Sankar thumb during Adhan and Iqamah (Munir-ul-Ain fi Hukam Taqbeel-ul-Abhameen) ie lightening of eyes due to thumb kissing.
(Nahj al-Salam fi Hukam Taqbeel al-Bahameen fi Iqama) Excellent detail in the command to kiss the thumb during iqamah.
These are short arguments presented service.
Amir al-mu'minin Syedna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) heard the muezzin saying * Ashhad in Muhammad Rasoolullah *, then he recited the dua and kissed the whole side of the fingers of both the words and applied it to the eyes. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: May my intercession be lawful for him who does what my beloved has done.
(Al-Muqassid Al-Hasna for Sakhawi Hadith No. 1021)
And Imam Sakhawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) narrated it with reference to Musnad al-Firdaus.
Narrated with reference to Sharh Naqiyah wa Kinz al-Ibad: Beware, it is indeed mustahab that when the first witness in the adhan he heard Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, say * peace be upon him and the Messenger of Allah, and the second time he recited the Aini Bak and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) Put your fingernails on your eyes and say, "Allah is Mut'ani by hearing and seeing that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) will take (the one who does this) behind him to Paradise."
(Fatawa Rizviyah Volume 5)
Hazrat Quds Surah Al-Aziz writes about this process after a long discussion: So even if a Muslim does Taqbeel (kissing his thumb) during Iqamah, there is no reason why it is not forbidden.
(Fatawa Rizviyah Volume 5 Page 652)
Regarding the virtue of kissing the thumb, Allama Ismail Haqi Hanafi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated the narration in Tafsir Ruhul Bayan Volume 7 which summarizes that the one who does so will never go blind.
